Horticulture Certificate II, III and IV
By studying Horticulture in Broome or Kununurra you learn how to cultivate sub tropical and tropical plants including Australian native plants. Our horticulture students learn to landscape gardens in large tourist resorts and undertake tasks required in horticulture nurseries.
Students studying in Kununurra will have the opportunity to learn about the new Stage 2 Ord River irrigation scheme expansion project. This project is supporting farmers to pioneer new irrigation and farming techniques. Students studying in Kununurra can take advantage of these new methods by studying at the College and working part time with the farmers.
Aquaculture Certificate II Seafood Industry, Diploma of Seafood Industry
Aquaculture students study at the Broome Aquaculture Centre which has a state of the art hatchery and science laboratory where finfish, molluscs and crustaceans are cultivated under controlled conditions.
Students study with lectures, work with aquaculture technicians in the three modern culture sheds, hatchery and science laboratory which are part of the Aquaculture Centre on the Broome Wharf Precinct..Students also go to sea and on practical field trips to commercial aquaculture businesses as part of their studies.
